    LIONS CLUB OF BANGALORE GARDENS was sponsored by Lions Club of Bangalore East and was chartered in 2003, with Ln.P.N.Bagchi as Charter President, Ln N H Subramanian as Charter Secretary and Ln.G Mahesh as Charter Treasurer. The Guiding Lion was Ln V V Krishna Reddy of Lions Club of Bangalore East. Since then the Club has grown in leaps and bounds and are now in its 4th Year . There have been lot of mile stones of service activities in these eventful four years. The first service activity was the BONE DENSITY CHECK where poor patients and senior citizens were checked for their bone strength and free Tablets were distributed. Every year the Club conducts Diabetic Awareness Camp, Blood Donation Camp, Eye Camp with free Cataract Operations, Cancer Detection Camps, and Aids Awareness Camp. In the last year Women health related camp was added in its service activity.

    There have been presentations by Dr. Venkataramana, Chief Neuro Surgeon, Manipal Hospital on Accident Trauma Care . Talks by eminent Speakers on various subjects was also held . The Club adopted a Government School in Benninganahalli, Bangalore and was providing vegetables for the mid-day meal, donated stationery for over 450 students of the school, conducted several magic shows for the students. The club also conducted free eye screenings for the students of this school.

    The club was awarded a grant by AKKA (An Association of Kannadigas of USA) for the school. The club has now undertaken to construct 10 toilets for the School . The club also sponsored a new Lions Club called The Lions Club of Bangalore Cantonment in the current Lionistic year. The club also has a Trust called Lions Club of Bangalore Gardens Trust and is registered.

    LIONS CLUB OF BANGALORE GARDENS has ambitious future plans and would rise to greater heights with the able cooperation of its devoted members.

    Dear Fellow Lions
    With great pleasure and effort, this issue is brought to your hands. GLASS. the transparent, visible, accountable version of Lions Gardens is out as the FIRST issue with the promise to come again and again. Lots of dedicated efforts are undertaken to atleast fulfill small needs of the needy. It is decided to highlight these achievements in order to involve many more from the society. There are many, who wants to contribute for the society, but often are searching for the means. This is where we are to show the 'torch' on our way to help others. Please join us in this long journey to make this world a better place.
